The Duplin County, NC dog-fighting ring raided last month is being called one of the worst in the U.S. And the man who ran the ring is reportedly one of the top five operators in the country.
A story posted Saturday on the Daily Reflector website details more information about the site raided on April 13 and explains in detail what the dogs endure within these rings.
Many states are still lagging behind in terms of the level of punishment handed down for convicted dog fighters and to those who attend fights. I was hoping, after the Michael Vick case, the pace would increase on better legislation. But while the awareness is better, too many elected bodies are still in slow motion on this issue.
