Kentucky.com posted a story Monday concerning dog fighting in Afghanistan and an apparent movement to legalize the horrible industry in the country.
If the Afghan government even considers supporting dog fights, I certainly hope the US government puts some serious pressure on the officials there and threatens them with sanctions so severe they back down.
Dog fighting is not even third-world stuff. It’s underworld and we should NEVER support it.
Dog fighting was banned when the Taliban ruled the country and it remains illegal today. (I’m surprised by this news – but I guess even when it comes to the Taliban, we can find some rare but common agreement on some rare issue like dog fighting. For the Taliban though, it’s a serious conflict when matched against its general practices.)
