Two more dog-fighting cases make news in North Carolina

On the heels of the recent dog-fighting bust in Duplin County, two more dog-fighting cases hit the headlines this week in the Tar Heel state.

In Bedford County, NC a man pleaded guilty to promoting dog fighting after selling five pit bulls to an investigator during undercover operation. has a story posted about the discovery of a Pitt County dog-fighting ring. A deputy serving a warrent smelled what he suspected was a decaying animal and when he investigated the source of the smell, he found 11 injured pit bulls and one that had died.

Let’s hope this success in targeting dog fighting proves to be a growing trend – a fast-growing trend – in North Carolina and nationwide.
