Another interesting essay – on the plight of homeless pets and those who work in rescue

I found the linked editorial on the Dog Examiner – by Penny Eims. She discusses some of the ridiculous reasons some people offer for surrendering their pets to local shelters.

Eims also rightfully notes some of the key players in filling the kennels at these local homeless shelters are the people who don’t spay or neuter and think it’s somehow the thing to do to allow their dogs to concieve puppies.

But we can’t leave out the other major players who are producing homeless pets by the thousands to millions each year – entities such as puppy mills and greyhound racing.
