DNA – a new tool in the legal battle to shut down dog-fighting operations

I’ve seen snippets of information about this subject – the use of DNA to tie together blood lines of fighting dogs. This evidence and a growing database of DNA samples is being used as evidence against those accused of operating or participating in dog fighting.

The New York Times ‘Science’ page is the latest to present a feature on this new investigative tool of law enforcement.

Now, if the sentencing will grow harsher, so that these people stay behind bars after being convicted, maybe some headway can be achieved on this front.

Thank you. It’s been a lot of work, but with better strategy almost in place for dealing with a daily flood of e-mails, I hope to be blogging even more here in the days to come.
