13-year-old donates babysitting money to animal shelter

A 13-year-old Connecticut girl has donated money from of her babysitting pay and fund-raising – totally $1.200 – to the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) in Terryville, Conn.

The Register Citizen reports she heard about a fire at the ARF shelter and so for her community service project, for her bat mitzvah, Elly Overton decided to help with a large donation.

And for the last five years, the confirmed animal lover has also been donating $20 from her allowance money to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. And – she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up.
