Peter Singer offers glimpse into where we could be 10 years from now

In a column posted on earlier this month, Peter Singer a look into what might be possible in the animal welfare moment by 2020. Singer is the author of such books as “Animal Liberation” and “In Defense of Animals.”

Singer suggest that over the next decade the animal welfare could gain more influence in political arena. And he writes with hope for other areas such as – “” stricter controls over the use of animals in research; a crackdown on puppy mills, new incentives for people to adopt animals from shelters rather than buy from breeders; a national school lunch program that promoted vegetarian meals; expansion of live webcams in slaughterhouses, factory farms and other places where animals were susceptible to abuse. “”

He Singer suggest the legal status for animals could change for the better.
