The North Carolina Chapter of the Humane Society of the United States is reporting that the North Carolina Department of Agriculture has submitted a budget proposal that includes cutting the state’s Animal Welfare Division.

The Natural and Economic Resources subcommittees are due to consider this proposal. North Carolina Voters For Animal Welfare (NCVAW) has set up a link to the legislators in the Appropriations Committees and the subcommittees considering this topic.

The Animal Welfare Division has oversight over shelters, boarding kennels, pet stores and rescues organizations.

  1. Hmm it looks like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess
I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any tips and hints for beginner blog writers? I’d really appreciate
    it.
