The UK is ahead of us on so many animal issues. Some times I think that we are a 3rd world country. How can the US try to help anyone when they can’t even help themsleves?

Lydya,
Thank you. I really appreciate your thoughts on the blog.
It’s been a lot of work, as I transition my Cape Fear Critters blog into a local-interest venue for Southeastern North Carolina and expand the topics of national interest into this new Pack Mentality blog.

i agree w/1st post what are we a 3rd world country also i was watching animal planet last night and it was a program on puppy/dogs being sent up north because the south has a huge problem with ppl who dont spay and neuter

Yes, in the South the over-population problem is bigger and thankfully homeless dogs are being sent to other areas to be adopted out.
But it isn’t enough. The problem is still at a stage where many thousands are dying each year. Between the entities such as puppy mills and greyhound racing – and mainly those who refuse to spay/neuter and allow their dogs to continue to produce puppies – we’ve got a huge problem on-going.
