Time: “Inside the Minds of Animals”

This Time Magazine article reports on the writer’s meeting – and conversation with Kanzi, a great ape. Yes, I typed ‘conversation.’

Jeffery Kluger had coffee with Kanzi and carried on a conversational exchange through the use of the ape’s symbols on laminated sheets.

But the article goes on to suggest the “berms we’ve built between ourselves and the beasts are being washed away.” This discussion about animal cognition needs to stay on the front cover of more magazines and websites – as it was on the August 16 print edition of Time.
